Cottesloe, Shipwrecks & Sideways Winds
Meet the “Grayo Pango” our trusty steed for this leg of our Oz adventure.
Our first full day in Western Australia began gently — a grocery run, a few supplies, and a sun-drenched walk along Cottesloe Beach, our first glimpse of the Indian Ocean. The water shimmered, the sky finally felt like summer, and everything smelled faintly of salt and sunscreen. From there, we drifted south, winding out of the city in Grayo Pangolin, our zippy little VW Polo finding its place among the left-hand lanes almost all of the time - haha.
Here is a sweet Gallery of Things Cotty takes pics of :)
We stopped at the Omeo wreck, its rusted skeleton rising through turquoise water, and then tried to explore Point Peron, but the wind had other plans. Sand blasted, hair wild, and terrible data reception, we didn’t last long before retreating back to the car.
By evening, jet lag hit hard. We found a place to crash, gratefully horizontal once again — this time without an airplane involved.
