Balloon Ride!!!! May 11
On our first two mornings in Goreme there were 0 ballons in the air. The Turkish government has to give approval to the balloon companies and they make their decision based on the wind forecast. If wind over 10 km/h is forecast for the morning then no approval is given. When no approval is given for consecutive days there are two results:- People with pre-booked travel are forced to leave town sad.- It is often difficult to get a space on the first morning that the balloons are permitted to fly.We were very grateful that we were able to fly on our final morning in Goreme.
Not long after our balloon ride we were bound for Istanbul. Thanks Veli and Ismail; Cappodochia was unforgettable!
