day twenty one - Cape Cod - NYC + micro stop motion
Today we woke up EARLY. Cotty set an alarm for 6:12am so that he could watch the sunrise over the Atlantic ocean. Trouble was the plan didn't include rain, thunder and lightening. We persevered and enjoyed our early start to the day - we went to the beach, enjoyed the cute cape cod scenery and architecture and then started out for New York City. We didn't get too far along as our search for morning wifi was found in Hyannis and wifi we also reorganized the gnu and got some food for the day. The weather was so nice when we left Hyannis we retired our coats and shoes and switched to flip flops and t-shirts. MAMA P PICKLES!! (Cotty is jumping for joy with pickles in hand above! :)Then we headed for Providence Rhode Island to check out RSID and to attend to the tail light and get some stamps. We stopped for lunch at a truck stop and Cotty made us delicious healthy salads - YUM. Then it was onwards to NYC. We pulled over to switch drivers here - which was pretty random - and deserved jumping. Because we like to sample every big cities rush hour we managed to time it just right ;) We went into Brooklyn to see where Cotty's friend Tanya works - she was lovely and told us her story of how she ended up in NYC from Comox - seems it all started with a misplaced wallet - funny the things that change your course in life. She works at Teddy's it opened in 1887! We enjoyed a bit of Williamsburg including the view. Then went to drive over the Brooklyn bridge - here is a TINY stop motion of thathttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdz7LrGmBTw&feature=youtu.be Sadly that was all the time we had for the Big Apple and we pointed the gnu towards Washington.
