The Segovia Aqueduct is a masterpiece of balance and endurance. Built nearly 2000 years ago around 50AD without a speck of mortar, each stone perfectly supports the next, showcasing Roman engineering at its finest. It’s astonishing to see how pristine it remains, looking as if it could have been constructed yesterday despite enduring earthquakes, wars, and the passage of centuries. This ancient structure comprised of 166 arches is an incredible UNESCO heritage site that welcomes you into Segovia. The Segovia Aqueduct was primarily used until the mid-19th century as the main source of water for the city of Segovia there are references to the aqueduct being used well into the 20th century, its primary operational period ended in the 1800s.
