Mini Break Day 2 - Mount Rainier

We awoke pleasantly in the shade near the entrance to Mud Mountain Dam. The sun was out and the gate was open. After breakfast we did the short hike down to the dam. I am not sure if the pictures do it justice. It is really tall and impressive.We hit the road at that point and headed towards the national park. We drove for a while past a river that looked murky and cold. Before entering the park we check out Crystal Mountain Ski Resort.Our first family dog was part St. Bernard. This guy was adorable!Soon after that we entered the park. The sun was sending down some serious heat by this point so it was nice to drive in tree shade. We took quite a few pics and enjoyed pizza for lunch.After exiting the park we drove past some cool looking metal art. We turned around and went to check it out.At that point we headed out for the final hour of driving and ended up having a yummy dinner with friends in Ruston. Here is a wet pic after I went for a dip in Alder Lake. It wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be!
