Part One Wrap-Up: Gnu’s Snoozing, We’re Recharging
We’ve made it safely back home and have mostly shaken off the jet lag—though not the wanderlust, haha. Here’s a look at our final few days, along with a little photo recap of the first part of the adventure. We are so excited to continue adventuring this Autumn.
Our final days on the road were truly idyllic. We were thoroughly spoiled in the Midlands by my sister Marina and brother-in-law Peter, who have generously taken the Gnu under their care. Not only do they have the perfect spot to keep it safe, but Peter has gone above and beyond—giving the Gnu a better-than-spa experience we couldn’t have imagined. We're incredibly grateful to them both for their kindness, generosity, and for being the absolute best guardians our beloved Gnu could hope for.
During our travels, we noticed that our unique license plate often puzzled local police, leading to a few unexpected stops. We decided to give the plates some love and are now refreshed and more legible—hopefully reducing future roadside chats!
On a lighter note, we've discovered that we're lounge people now—who knew?
This piece was on a wall surrounding a cemetery. As you can see above, I spotted more of this artist’s work around the city, but this one felt especially fitting—and seriously cool.

escaping death?
I'm so excited to be able to use the gallery feature again! :D Here are some of the moments I captured during our two days of wandering around Paris. We were once again delighted to spend time with our dear friends David, Brad, and Jo in Chatou, and we’re so incredibly grateful for their warmth and generosity in hosting us throughout our journey.
Spotted this familiar feline again—M. Chat, the grinning yellow cat with wings. I remember seeing him years ago in Paris, and he's still out there, spreading joy from the rooftops. Some of the art in these photos comes from 59 Rivoli, a fascinating former squat turned legal artist collective in Paris. Spanning six floors, this vibrant space houses numerous artists, each transforming their tiny studios into unique creative havens. Exploring its colourful, mural-covered staircases and diverse artworks made for a truly memorable wander.
Here’s the bouquet of flowers I wish I’d taken back to our incredible hosts—along with all those dreamy, picture-perfect shots of Paris you always hope to capture.

Incredible, edible fruit creations to end our last night on a sweet and colourful note.
Not sure why, but I’ve developed a bit of a habit of photographing manhole covers during my travels—there’s just something oddly charming about them. And speaking of small details, here’s a few collections of the doors, floors and lions that caught my eye on this adventure!
