day one - driving Vancouver to somewhere in Montana
Packing car took us longer than planned.Kevin in Chicago requested Tim Horton's, Molson beer and back bacon and we came through! However we had to try two liquor stores for beer because it was so early and our awesome mechanic recommended Beefway meats on Kingsway (sorry no disgusting pic!) so we got bacon from there. As a result of all that we arrived at the border later than planned but fortunately it was sunny there. About 90 minutes later we were finally in the USA. But not before we got a chuckle out of the border guard (never easy!) when we mentioned the Tim Horton's coffee delivery plan.We ran into some brutal rain on the way to Mary's place. Around 230pm She provided us with soup, gluten free garlic toast bagels, and coffee. We love Mary. She is taking us from Tofino to Brooks peninsula and back on her catamaran in July.Next up was Pike Place Market to pick up some yummy tea. It was rush hour and Cotty managed to make the clutch smoke and smell on the endless steep hills. Gentle Cotty gentle! Just before that Judi spotted a Seattle Mounted Police man on the cutest horse. To her utter shock the horse was able to get its entire head and neck inside a downtown coffee shop. I wish we were able to snap a pic but the light went green :(More brutal weather going through Snoqualmie pass but again the sun came out soon after. Now it's 821pm and we have to drive all night to stay on schedule. No sleep for the wicked I suppose.
