Waves, Walls & Winding Streets - Malaga, Granada and Valencia

The Centre Pompidou in Málaga was an absolute beauty on this sunny day! Housed in a striking multicoloured glass cube known as ‘El Cubo,’ the building itself is a work of art—and even the shadow reflections it cast were photo-worthy.

These tiny electric cars are ridiculously cute—and get this, in Spain, you don’t even need a full driver’s license to drive them! They’re classed as quadricycles, making them a popular option for zipping around cities.

We’ve been absolutely delighted by the luscious weather—sunny skies and warm breezes have made every stop feel like a dream.

Now that we’re in hustle mode, this was our fleeting view of the famed Alhambra. As incredible as it is, travel like this can sometimes lead to a bit of castle-and-church overload—but we’re still grateful for every glimpse of these iconic places.

A beautiful view of Granada from above—this historic Andalusian city is nestled at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains and is famed for its rich blend of Moorish and Spanish architecture. From up here, you can really feel the layers of history woven through its streets.

The stunning Sierra Nevadas, crowned with snow and drifting clouds—so perfectly blended it was hard to tell where the mountains ended and the sky began. A truly breathtaking sight.

Captured this hoodoo-like rock formation thanks to a rare missed turn—sometimes the best sights are off-route! As we made our way from the mountainous terrain of Granada toward the coastal plains of Valencia, the shifting geography offered up some surprises.

So… this happened! We got escorted off the highway by some very CHiPs-like officers. Their main concern? The sorry state of our license plate. Strangely enough, that wasn’t our only brush with law enforcement that day—a security officer made us retrace our steps, and later the national police stopped us for a completely random chat. Just one of those days on the road, I guess—haha!

The architectural marvel that is the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia left us wanting more. Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, this futuristic complex houses everything from an opera house to an interactive science museum—and looks like it’s straight out of a sci-fi movie!

Even the beach in Valencia was calling to us—wide, golden, and inviting. Sadly, we arrived a bit too late in the day to fully soak it in, but it was still a beautiful spot to catch our breath.
