Pamukkale May 7

Judi has wanted to make it to Pamukkale for a long time and today was the day! We jumped in the rental car and picked up Stephanie. We had a quiet three hour drive with only one pit stop. It was easy to park and within a few minutes we were removing our shoes at the request of security and walking up the amazing calcium deposits!

There were also interesting ruins and paths to wander on.A nice couple from Edmonton was nice enough to take final pool pictures of us.As we were heading down it started raining and then we began driving the rain turned to hail. But that hail was nothing like the storm we would experience an hour later in the mountain pass. We saw two (ute) work trucks sliding down the highway. When the visibility got really bad and the noise on the roof unbearable we found cover at a gas station along with 8-10 other vehicles.Thankfully the final two hours of the drive were uneventful and we ended up back at our favourite indian restaurant. We had just enough energy left to drive back into Fethiye to say goodbye to our friend Mustafa of the kilims. Sadly he didn't have enough energy to stay awake :)
